:) - feeling happy

I love these new emotion things on Facebook. I can tell my whole Facebook world if I’m happy, sad, overwhelmed, excited, angry, or hurt! No one needs to guess how I am feeling.

I got to thinking last night; I could use a set of cue card like that for everyday life…

If you know me well, you know I’m a High I that will cry at the drop of a hat. I cry when I’m reading a book, I cry through movies like Cheaper by the Dozen and Parental Guidance and I will most definitely cry at least once in every church service I attend.

I have one emotional response to every single emotion you can think of – tears. I probably look like a crack pot half the time. (No smart comments needed!)

If I’m hurting, tears. If I am feeling compassion, tears. If I’m angry, tears. If I’m happy, tears. If I’m overwhelmed, tears. If I’m excited, tears. If I’m feeling proud, tears. If I’m furious, lots of tears. You get the picture.

I always kinda thought that the people that know me best know how to read all those crazy tears and those who didn’t could be schooled by those who do. But yesterday when I said that, my 17 year old son said in his most sarcastic voice “oh yeah, Mom, you are SO easy to read.”

*insert the sad face icon here* Really Nick?!

So when you see me this week with a set of emotion cue cards tied around my neck, blame it on Nick. High I’s don’t take blame well either.
