The kids go back to school on Monday. I have mixed feelings. You
know – sad, depressed, wishing summer would last a little longer. There are
just so many things that we didn’t get to do yet this summer and so many things
that I will miss about what we did get to do this summer –
- I will miss Little Miss Mia sleeping on the love seat at 4AM while I work.
- I will miss longs walks with Emmie & Mia that eventually end at the Dollar Tree for a snack.
- I will miss having my almost teenage BFF here all day long. Emmie has grown into quite the young woman this last year! The two weeks that I worked my enrollment job this summer, she not only babysit and kept the house in order-ish, but she would actually walk me out to my car holding my lunch and laptop bag in the mornings. It was like I had my very own wife.
- I will miss weekday visits to Hershey Park and Sweet Frog.
- I will miss weekday sleep overs.
- I will miss the constant laugher and dramatic behavior that happens each summer at the Webb Zoo.
- I will miss the almost all day long cheer practices in my living room.
- I will miss the endless chatter all day long. (Okay, maybe I won’t miss that quite as much as the rest!)
But I will miss having my girls at home. A LOT – almost enough
to consider Cyber School. Almost.
But you know, fall always brings its own list of things to
look forward to –
Football Games, Cheer Competitions, Hoodies, Bonfires, Farmer’s
Market trips for Pumpkins, Trick or Treat Night and this year the start of
Revolution Church.
So this week, I will do my best to embrace the last few days
of summer while trying desperately to get all the work done that needs to be
done. And on Monday, I will dry my tears and strive to move gracefully into
this new season.
Wish me luck!
